Retroscape is a music store I created for my Publication Design course in my third semester. The catalog centers around 2000s records and albums, tailored for Gen Z and younger Millennial audiences (who love a good throwback).
Nostalgia is at the heart of this design, drawing major inspiration from the Frutiger Aero aesthetic and the classic Windows Vista interface. Retroscape is a project meant for those who resonated the music of the year 2000.
2000s nostalgia and beyond!
I drew inspiration from the 2000s music I was listening to, particularly pop with subtle influences of hip-hop and R&B. Tracks and albums from that era formed the backbone of this project. After all, Y2K music is my favorite type of sounds.
With the creative artistry of musicians like Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, and Pharrell Williams as my reference, I aimed to craft a record that would allow listeners who didn’t experience that time to imagine it through sound.
